About Me (Scott Mitchell)...
Scott Mitchell

Hello, and welcome to the About Me page. I am the author of ASP.NET Data Web Controls Kick Start, as well as the author or coauthor of (currently) four other ASP/ASP.NET books. I invite you to pick up a copy of each:

Along with authoring books, I occassionally write print magazine articles. I am, perhaps, best known in the ASP/ASP.NET community for my hundreds of articles, tips, FAQs, tutorials, and advice at 4GuysFromRolla.com, ASPFAQs.com and ASPMessageboard.com.

In addition to authoring books, and print and online articles, I am also a developer with real-world experience and advanced education. (Hire me!) I wrote the software that, with some enhancements from Microsoft, became the ASP.NET Forums. I have worked as a ASP and ASP.NET consultant for several small to medium-sized business across the United States over the past five years as well.

I am also a teacher and speaker. I have taught ASP.NET and XML classes at the University of California - San Diego University Extension, and will be teaching two different classes on Web Services in the Fall of 2003. I have spoken at conferences and numerous user groups. I recently completed my Masters degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in Database and Information Retrieval from the University of California - San Diego.
